Our Senior Pastor has always done a fantasic job empowering his team to finish the year strong and not enter the following year without a verified "word" from God for the next year. I spent a few minutes developing some questions for my team to work through in preperation for a personal time I will have with them over the next couple of weeks to see what the Lord is speaking to them.
First, begin by assessing your ministry at Living Water by working through the following questions to finish out 2008:
1. Do I have any relational issues or unmet expectations of others/overseers that need to be resolved with those that I serve with at Living Water? If, so what are the steps to address these issues prior to the end of the year.
2. Are there things that the Lord spoke to you in 2008 that have yet to be fulfilled? If so, what is the Lord saying about these in order to finish the year strong?
3. What is the status of the ministry goals that I and/or my overseer set? How can I finish strong with these over the next sixty days?
4. Do I feel good about my present relationship with the Lord? Am I being consistent with daily quiet time with the Lord and do I have my priorities in right order?
Next, begin the process if you have not already begun to seek the Lord’s direction for 2009. This would include your ministry at Living Water along with your personal life. Below are some questions that I would like you to use as a tool to help navigate God’s will for your ministry at Living Water in 2009.
1. Where is God leading you and what is He speaking to you about your ministry in 2009?
2. Do I enjoy what I am doing at Living Water and why? What are those things that I don’t necessarily enjoy and why?
3. Are there things that I would like to do in addition to what I am doing now if I was given the opportunity within my current ministry? If so, what are they?
4. Is there anything presently preventing me from growing? If so, what?
5. What ministry/life goals do I have that I would like help to succeed in from my overseer? Please name one.
